@flyonadog realized i forgot to reply to this, sorry!
the core mechanics are similar to D&D when it comes to skill checks, saves, and rolling to hit but there’s a neat damage threshold mechanic that’s new to me. basically, every time a target takes damage that meets or exceeds their threshold, they move one mark down their condition track. the condition track goes like, -1 to all rolls, -5, then there are a couple of additional consequences i can’t remember after those and finally unconsciousness/death. there are also race specific feats, a lot of class options--and you can take class skills from any subclass in your class without committing to the one subclass, which is nice--and things like spaceships, armor upgrades, etc are in the game. there are even thorough rules for designing your own droid character. it’s really neat! also there’s a thing called destiny points, which you can typically expend one of per session (dm discretion obviously) to pull off Really Cool Shit or avoid Really Bad Shit. and everyone has force points (but force sensitive characters are different and have their own cool stuff... force points are spent by storing a d6 roll and having the option to add that number to a later roll of your choice)
i’m sure a lot of those aren’t exclusive to SWRPG but it’s a fun combination!
