Corona was supposed to be a brand new adventure. Sure, buried treasure hunts and coastal raids were fun, but Red Jessica was getting old. Old and bored. Lately she’d made a habit of larger, higher risk targets; palaces, museums, and even a castle! And while the hauls had been heavy and well worth the risk, this time she maaay have been a bit too cocky. In her defense she’d done everything right! The plan to infiltrate the royal grounds was flawless and she’d even timed it all with the weather in mind! Then again all it takes is one bad, double crossing informant to ruin everything and send her up here: in a grey, guarded prison cell, staring out of a barred window.... In a stroke of luck, the informant hadn’t known she was traveling with a whole crew in tow. Even luckier, she’d been arrested before she’d even done anything. So rather than a direct trip to the gallows in a day’s time, she’d have a trial in a week’s time. Not that Jessica here had any intention of staying that long.
The captain sighed to herself and turned away from the window, electing instead to lean nonchalantly against the cold wall. It wasn’t like she’d never broken out of places like this before, and yet she could still feel her confidence slipping. This was the largest and most well guarded prison she’d ever been thrown in, and the last time she’d done this she could hear as well as anybody else... There wasn’t any hope of sneaking anyone in to assist her.... could perhaps, she turn her jailbreak into a team effort?
Not a few moments had the thought crossed her mind before movement caught her eye. Soldiers, gleaming in their own nauseating self righteousness and gilded steel, were dragging their latest catch down the the otherwise empty hall. To her surprise they halted at the cell directly next to her. Was she really this lucky??? Olive eyes remained locked on her captures until they’d rounded the corner of the hall. She waited a moment, juuuust to make sure they were gone, before snapping her attention to the man across the bars.
“ Well they certainly wern’t polite-” She sauntered forward, leaning an elbow on the section of the wall made of stone and casting her gaze to the figure on the ground.
“ Just tossin’ ya in here without so much as an ‘Enjoy yer stay.’ Ya’d think a royal guard would ‘ave manners.....”
