Airport microaggressions San Jose edition- 1) when walking through the security line, there was a TSA agent with a dog. He was passively making the rounds to have the dog sniff stuff. After I walked past him, he looped the dog around and pointed to my carryon and told the dog to come right up and sniff it. Real subtle bro. 2) after standing in a much too long line at the Starbucks and waiting patiently for my drink, then noticed that the couple behind me got their drinks first. I asked about my drink (‘cause you never know) and the lady said it’s all being done in order so hang on. I said I was before the last couple and the guy even said I was in front of them. She found my drink, coming up next, and she said she thought I was with the (brown) couple, hence why my drink was grouped with theirs and coming up after theirs. “Just because we have the same skin color doesn’t mean we’re together.” I said. Yeah, I was *that* person. And the thing is, I’m usually not that person. I even try to be more cheery and smiley at the airport than I normally am! But today, not so much. Apologies in advance for the folks coming across this grumpy Muzzy today. #flyingwhilemuslim (at San Jose International Airport (SJC)) https://www.instagram.com/p/Bpe0pApglqL/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=dgy73yd6b54b
