If a bird happens to fall from a height, can it "catch" itself and take flight in midair?
Yes! That’s actually Mia’s favourite thing to do, when taking off from heights she’ll just let herself drop until necessary where she’ll then throw out her wings and flutter on over to her destination.  During indoor free flying she also likes to go do a lap and then shoot up, let herself fall, twist her body then catch herself so she’s flying back at me!

Properly trained and exercised birds have incredible flight capabilities and extreme manoeuvrability, some even able to flip on their backs for in-air combat or do flips in the air.
