AuRaAugust Day1: Scales
My first FFXIV event. I am excite and anxious.
Horns fit under the scale bracket right? Or I went of mark terribly
“Aymeric?” Mizuki called his name, snapping him out of his daze. “Are you alright?” Aymeric blushed, scratching his cheek nervously. “Forgive me for bringing in the outside, I wasn’t expecting to get that wet from the snow,” Mizuki continued, hanging her hat near the fireplace before wrestling with the clasps on her coat. “You’re still staring.” There was a knock at the door, and Lucia entered with a tray of tea and a towel draped over her arm. “Thank you.” Lucia bowed and left them to have a moment's privacy. Aymeric’s second in command always welcomed Mizuki’s visits, it got Aymeric to stop working for a few moments. Mizuki tried to untangle her hair that had looped around her horns, a daily nightmare staying in such a windy city.
Aymeric cleared his throat “I know-I mean...this might seem an odd request, but might I touch your horn?”
Mizuki processed his request and nodded shyly. “Of course...They’re just horns.” Aymeric crossed the room to her and removed his gloves, laying them on the arm of the chair. He reached up and first pulled a few leaves from her horns. “Oh, thank you!” she laughed nervously.
Her heart felt as though it was going to burst forth from her chest when his hand touched her cheek before sliding across her face to touch the base of her horn. She knew what it felt like to touch her own horns but having someone else touch them… why did she feel so nervous? She held her breath as Aymeric’s deft fingers carefully trailed around the base before they glided softly and slowly over the rest of the horn, taking deep care to examine all the grooves in her horns.
The sound vibrated through her, it felt strange but nice. She didn’t see Aymeric’s other hand raise up to touch the other side, but the accumulation of the vibrations reverberated through her like an earthquake. It was too much, drowning out the crackling fireplace, the sound of the guards chatting outside, just the rumbling of Aymeric’s fingers. She shuddered, wobbling as she lost balance simply staying stood up.
Aymeric pulled her against him gently, resting a hand on the back of her head. “Heavens, are you alright?” he asked in alarm.
Mizuki mumbled a response into his chest, clutching at his robes to ground herself, before she managed to look up at him and provided a better response. “I got a little overwhelmed. I couldn’t hear anything...it felt weird but nice at first,” she assured him. “It really does feel different when someone else touches your horns.” She ran her hand over one of her horns to remind herself of the difference. “It's not as though I disliked it!” she added quickly, “I just...maybe one at a time,” she muttered, looking away in embarrassment.
“Of course, my light.” Aymeric replied, tucking a strand of orange hair behind her horn as he dipped to plant a kiss against it. Being so close, the sound of his breathing heightened and vibrated through her like a rumbling volcano. Mizuki shuddered and lost her balance once more. “Mizuki?!” Aymeric held her in panic this time.
“I think maybe this is something we should work on …” she suggested, her face burning as though it was on fire and her poor heart threatening to give out. “Perhaps in private..”
