A final note about the design of our fluted frame, shown here. First, “fluted” refers to a profile with concave curves; while “reeded” refers to a frame with convex curves. The profile here originates from a frame designed by Edgar Degas. It is a “passepartout” frame, meaning the frame has an inner panel, or platform, that takes the place of a window mat. Designer Paul Jordan modified the design to fit our client’s oil on canvas by Maurice S. Hague, an artist from Ohio who painted landscapes during the 20th century.
