I knew you would go there. You had to.

So, let me say something nice about the film I loathe most out of this franchise:

It was very good that finally in the third film we actually got Kitty Pryde as a character and not just random-girl-going-through-a-wall. Elliot Page was an excellent casting choice and I know it became a meme and all, but I unironically love the way Kitty stopped Juggernaut for a second. The horrifying implications of Kitty clipping people into walls like glitching videogame characters. A+

The beginning is promising, with Jean's vast powers and poor bb!Warren growing wings, immediately met with hostility from his father. And oh, to have a Danger Room session that includes a Sentinel. Good start to a film! (Please know my first viewing was a triple feature, I was hyped up.) They gave us the Fastball Special with Colossus throwing Wolverine!!!

The angst level of the moment when Mystique loses her power is great. And I can't say anything else about that scene here. But overall I find cure-storylines fascinating, so it was nice the films tackled it. (We do have this wonderful heritage post on tumblr about "sorry Storm, you create weather, this girl kills people by accidentally touching them - this is not the same".) Also absolutely adore Logan's line that boils down to "if you wanna get the cure, go and get it, but do it the fuck for you and not because of a boy". Best friend.

Jean turns people into dust, very cool of her. Get that girl a snickers. And it is nice that all of that is remembered and the emotional consequence of the ending drips into The Wolverine. (I'm happy when Famke Janssen is employed.) Overall mutant powers in action - love it, here for it, always! Fry all the bitches, Storm:

Oh, right, this film gives us Moira MacTaggert, actual geneticist. Before she became a CIA agent in the films and we will not talk about the self-hating mutant she became in the comics. Played by Olivia Williams and I was interested in where that could have gone. Which doesn't count as complaining about wasted potential, it was a genuine last interesting post credit moment. Speaking of actresses in cool roles - honorary mention goes to Shohreh Aghdashloo as Kavita Rao. All the lady scientists, please!

Totally 100000% a fic in which MacGyver reads Mark Watney’s autobiography and sets out to go meet this man. 

6. Different characters played by the same actor/actress you think would have fun meeting (fun for you or them? who knows).

I'm still on Barbie brain, so what if Harley Quinn showed up. Margot Robbie playing Harley Quinn who tries to pretend to be Barbie. Or something. Somebody from Mattel capturing Harley on accident. Or worse, Amanda Waller's minions grabbing Barbie thinking she's Harley and sending her on a mission. Or the two meet on the street, enjoying their breakfast sandwiches. I think there is some potential for hilarity. They would absolutely support each other, that much is for sure!!!

7 Two films - from very different genres at best - you'd want to mash-up in an unholy experiment.

The thought process: I wanted to think of a comedy and the first that came to mind was Barb and Star go to Vista del Mar. A totally underrated gem of a great time. But thinking about what to mash that up with - preferably horror - I realized that Barb & Star need to have adventures all over the place! They are the perfect duo to make everything hilarious. They are the bestest of friends who will have each others' back no matter what and they don't flinch when bizarre doom is coming for them. I watched Insidious: The Red Door recently and that came up. The two just walking around in the Further and giving decoration tipps to the demon, you know.

Barb & Star meet Ghostface -- Barb & Star visit Gotham City -- Barb & Star watch the Hunger Games (in the Capitol, VIP seats) -- Barb & Star vs the Mummy -- Barb & Star in a cabin in the woods They will thrive! And Trish will always be there to help them out. Every film has one throwaway scene with Sharon and Yoyo trying to get back at them and they fail miserably.

10. A remake you wish would happent for whatever reason.

Cutthroat Island. You know what, I'll even keep most of the plot, because I enjoy it. Only a few tweaks. BUT the character of William Shaw (used to be Matthew Modine) is now Wilhelmina and we get the lesbians we deserve. Geena Davis gets to have a cameo. Or she can be the villain Dawg Brown, here for that.

14. An action sequence you deeply enjoy.

The beginning in X-Men: Days of Future Past. When the rag tag bunch of last free mutants with Kitty & Co escape the Sentinels. It is a tense scene, very dynamic and it highlights all the powers used. Blink's portals, Iceman's ice-sliding etc etc. Also they die so we get to see how big of a threat these Sentinels truly are. And then *poof* it's erased so the scene also helps explaining the big plotpoint of how quantum-time-travel-bladiblubb works in this.

I remember watching that for the first time on the big screen and I was so excited. It's only the beginning of the movie and we get such a treat. Sunspot gets to power up Bishop and then blasts a Sentinel with all he's got. Meanwhile Iceman freezes one of them. And then those bastard machines show they have powers of their own adapt and we get fire and ice used against them.

N) Dancing headcanon 

Gabby hasn’t had time yet to find out what kind of music is her fav, so she has this phase where she tries to give everything a try. And how do you even know you like this thing? You have to violently move your body to it! And then you’ll see what just fits. Jonathan questions these impromptu hurricane performances when Gabby thrashes the whole room at first. But it’s nice when Gabby picks him up as a partner. There is extra petting and some cuddles and also being thrown into the air can be fun (it’s a very Wolverine thing, so).

If the X-kids would have a school, where they could have something like prom or at least any kind of formal dance, Gabby would be the weird kid. I mean, in a bunch of weird kids she would stand out with her moves. Except people wouldn’t make fun of her (and not just because she has this pointy claw).

B) Cooking headcanon

Wolverines don’t cook. They drink beer* and order take-out or steal whatever anybody else has. Well, they maybe take care of the fire at a BBQ and offer claws as a skewer and nobody ever takes that up...

Canonically Laura has spent time with Gambit (even though I guess this is another thing writers forgot). And I have to think about that hilarious cooking moment with Gambit from the 90s cartoon... well anyway, he taught her all he knows about Cajun Cuisine. But she never has time to get back to this.

And of course in an ideal world Laura would be a part of an active A-Force roster (every team needs a Wolverine), thus picking up She-Hulks love for cooking shows. Which Laura then watches with take out...............

Brittany S. Pierce / AngerMost people think Brittany doesn't get angry, dismissing her rather quickly. Well, that happens with all big emotions she might show and so at a young age Brittany learned to keep a lot of stuff inside. Don't make a big scene, don't act out. And so the way she shows emotions sometimes, it's as "weird" from an outside perspective as her word associations (that always make sense in her head). By now she puts her anger into sneaky revenge actions (ask Rachel, although she doesn’t even understand what’s happening). And if she can’t do that. The only person she just straight up yells back at? Santana. And the reasons to do so are very few, especially the more crap Santana figures out about herself.

Evie Frye / General Physical ContactEvie specializes in not-being-seen, so not-being-touched goes with that most of the time. And training all her life meant that most physical contact had to with punching and kicking. Also well, Victorian era, lots of etiquette there. So any physical contact that is not slapping her brother or shaking hands with somebody, is very deliberate. Okay, so this is headcanon anyway, so my fav Evie ship is of course the Dishonored crossover ship with Emily Kaldwin and now there is all sorts of physical contact! In this one fanfic that I'll never write Evie ends up in Dunwall and she thinks she's being sneaky, but Emily - on her nightly run along the rooftops - notices a shadow, so their first encounter ends with some punches and both being impressed. (The story exists in two versions, one is canon-compliant, so both have other love interests and it's just a flirt. The other has just much more physical contact and Evie will enjoy that very much... and hand-holding is super important, also angsty, because try grabbing your smoke-monster almost girlfriend that's being sucked into a transdimensional vortex of most certain doom...)Anyway, for Evie Frye a hug, a squeeze on the shoulder, brushing a tear from the cheek - it all carries meaning and these are all deliberate acts.

Meredith Grey / Favorite PossessionMeredith is not the most sentimental type. Things are things. At one point she even managed to let go of her childhood home and moved into the perfect family house specifically build for her. And she let that go when the love of her life died and it wasn't a good place anymore. But speaking of, Derek left his scrub cap behind, the one with the ferry boats he loved so much. And if everything burned down, Meredith would grab her kids and this darn scrub cap. She is dark and twisty and she could even spin losing her mother's diaries into something positive (freeing herself from the past and stop looking for clues). But that cap...

Hermione Granger / CookingAin't nobody got time for that, there's a ministry that needs to be run! Knowing the way Hermione likes to follow potion recipes to the letter, I wonder if that carries over to cooking. This is how the dish is described in the book, this is how it should be done and this is the way she will do it. And there is a bit of peace in cooking the muggle way, it takes more time and that could become the stress relief hobby she definitely needs. (Until there is this big holiday dinner and she says she's gonna host and wow, she helped with Weasley gatherings before, but being in charge and trying to do it all and following a plan... oh, no way.)

Uh, that’s a lot of fandoms, yay. Also I really hate question #6. Maybe people should tell me…

Grey’s:01. The first character I fell in love with: Cristina Yang :302. The character I never expected to love as much as I do now: Alex Karev, that stupid asshole with no good qualities… oh no, he grew up and is awesome with kids and a good doctor and actually deserves love and happiness, dammit03. The character I’d slap: Owen, I think he’s mostly a good dude, and he should find a woman who wants this super traditional home/family life, but OMG all these asshole moments with people he supposedly loves UGH04. Dishonored:01. The first character I fell in love with: I think the very first was Cecilia, because I started using the heart on everybody, which is where I fell in love with the world in general, because everybody has a story02. The character I never expected to love as much as I do now: this is weird, but Corvo. The silent stubbly protagonist, who gets to do all the stuff and is super awesome, but he got tortured and now revenge, ah smells like man pain… at first I didn’t think I’d care for him much, but reading all these things about him, the interactions he has, and well I played him as a good guy first - I love the rat dad now03. The character I’d slap: Hiram Burrows, the king idiot of idiots; Pierro, for being a creepy dude; Havelock, because he’s an asshole; Madame Prudence, that bitch; Mortimer Ramsey, the traitor aaaaah; Luca Abele, because he’s everything that’s wrong with aristocrats; Timsh, the corrupt bastard; also the Outsider, that drama ho….. there would be a lot of slapping (probably because there’s a lot of murdering to do)04. Who are my 3 favorite characters: Empress Emily Drexel Lela Kaldwin, first of her name (ﾉ^ヮ^)ﾉ*:・ﾟ✧ - Billie Lurk/Meagan Foster - the Heart/Jessamine Kaldwin05. F - What’s the longest you’ve ever been in a fandomProbably Star Trek. I cannot remember the first time I watched it, I’ve just known Kirk, Spock & Co forever. Then again that was ‘87/’88 when it was on Sat.1. That was around the time I started school, which means around the time I slowly started to read (I had so much trouble memorizing this stupid alphabet thing XD ) and one of the first things I read on my own - because I could dammit - was this weird comic book my brother had lying around called Die Gruppe X. So, yeah, X-Men ruined my developing brain from the start as well.  there just is no life without either Star Trek or X-Men.

I - Has tumblr caused you to stop liking any fandoms, if so, which and whyI kinda want to stay away from fandom in general as of late. With tumblr specifically I find a lot of the general wlw-fandoms embarrassing (especially when the word queerbait gets tossed around like karneval candy...).I enjoy watching Supergirl, then I look into the tags and just... no, so much no. 

J - Name a fandom you didn’t care/think about until you saw it all over tumblr*hmmmmmm* I guess Parks+Rec could count for this. I knew about the show, I always wanted to watch some distant day (you know, TIME), but the constant posts on tumblr didn’t allow for it to be put on the backburner much longer. And I guess as much as I love sci-fi without tumblr I wouldn’t have followed Orphan Black from start to finish this closely.

N - Name three things you wish you saw more of in your main fandom (or a fandom of choice)

I’m gonna go with X-Men (and Marvel in general):

chill people - like, yes, omg some writers cater more to your specific tastes and interpretations of a certain character and yes, sometimes they miss the mark by a mile, sometimes stories aren’t original masterpieces; but superhero comics work in cycles and waves, up and down and the things you think suck donkey-balls are what keeps others reading; enjoy the ride (you can have opinions, I have too, but just less hyperbole and only-I-understand-100-years-of-mutant-evolution-like-nobody-else)I bought a few 200-something issues of Uncanny X-Men some time ago. First thing I did was read the fan letters and people were bitching and crying how the quality of the book was clearly in the gutter and nothing could ever be worth reading again....

the joy of the multiverse - I bemoan a few things about movies based on comic books, but also omg those movies are a new universe, accept that or just stop watching. General rule, but especially so for Fox’ X-Men. Look, my absolute favorite character in all of Marvel history has not gotten a good movie portrayal and I hope in the future she gets another shot. But I can also sit back and enjoy the movies for what they are. Pretty much the same I did with the Ultimate-Verse (in which I pretty much only followed X-Men and Spider-Man [PP and MM], ignoring Ultimates and everything else as best as I could.)

and well in a way less talk about romance and more talk about friendships and the general found family aspect; I only read fic in certain moods and omg trying to find DOMESTIC X-MEN... why is that so hard?? (thanks to all the people who kept the Evo branch going.)
