while being trapped in the gray terminal while it was on fire was terrifying and traumatizing, i dont think luffy considered the junkyard his home. his home was the treehouse, and dadan's country, and most of all his brothers. he didn't seem to have any hang-ups about fire that we saw. i'd bet money that he thought ace's mera mera fruit was the coolest thing in the entire world, and at the marineford when ace dragged him thru a towering column of flames, luffy didn't even flinch. i'm sure he trusted it not to hurt him bcus it belonged to his brother

(that scene in the alabasta arc when ace touched his hat with a fire finger and it didnt burn 😻 it makes me think about sabo learning how to use it---the intense firepower (lol) comes easily, but it's the finer control that trips him up. accidentally smoldering shirts, dropping sparks on paperwork, etc. but iva told him all about the summit war, and sabo absolutely will not rest until he can do what ace did. until he can set fire to everything around him without burning anything important)

In an ideal situation ( i.e. Harry finally leaves Dursleys during his school years) who would have been the most suitable guardian for him?

Possibly controversial take?? Not all that fond of James Potter.  Like, I know JKR said he’d reformed himself enough in like less than 2 years for Lily to marry him despite being an absolutely shitty person before that but eh I’ve never been a huge fan of the entire way the Snape-Lily-James thing played out for a number of reasons.  But in relation to Harry himself, well, James loved his wife and son enough to die for them so I’d say Harry would realistically be safe and well cared for in James’ custody.

Sirius Black? Mmm. My man had some obvious problems and personality flaws as a teenager and young adult but I’d say that stint in Azkaban was payment enough for being a raging asshole as a teenager.  But at the same time that stint in Azkaban absolutely disqualifies him as an actual healthy guardian for Harry. Man needed therapy, not a kid he could accidentally project all of his thoughts/emotions regarding James onto.

Severus Snape? Complex, morally grey at best, kind of character.  No. Do not give this man a child.  Specifically not this child.  Like, I personally like to think that Snape would have softened a great deal towards Harry if he’d ever actually gotten to legit know him because there were far more similarities between Snape-Harry than there ever were between James-Harry. But, that being said, overall not the best choice of guardian for Harry.

What exactly is the relationship between Deku and Uraraka? Chaotic frenemies/accomplices who handle each other's bs / do they actually have crushes on each other??

Their relationship is quite complicated. Till the Redbone case point they didn't care about each other cuz each did their own thing and they were fine with it.

But when Deku got involved in the Redbone case, things got complicated. Ochako thinks about him now as of her enemy, and he sees her as a good opportunity to gain more power and money - whether by being her ally or enemy.

And even if Deku jokes around and teases her a little bit, he knows that she might be quite dangerous, so he's being careful anyway.

When it comes to crushes, I wanted to keep it close to canon, so Ochako does have some attraction feelings towards him, but I think she denies them lol it probably pisses her off

So I’m definitely not a physics person. I’ll be real and say I don’t quite know what exactly you’re looking for when asking this question, but I’ll do what I can here with some of my spare observations regarding Overhaul the quirk and the character, and I’ll let you run with them if you like.

Horikoshi seems way more invested in the effects of this quirk to use in his story rather than the actual logic behind how it could work. I don’t know what anyone else has said on the topic, but this is certainly not my area of expertise.

The interesting part of his quirk is the time lag between disassembly and reassembly. There seems to be no mention of concern regarding Chisaki’s knowledge of anatomy. He seems to be able to just do what he wants to molecules at will without any knowledge of molecular science. He can disassemble a person (objects too) and put them back together, alive and well and even healed. Honestly, that doesn’t make much sense, so I can see why you’d be curious about it.

The other interesting part is how he mentions anything he puts back together isn’t quite the same as it was before. It also appears to be an unpleasant experience for the reassembled person. I don’t know what this means from a physical standpoint, but it illustrates Chisaki’s callous Machiavellian bent and sadistic edge.

He does seem limited by the types of molecules at play. He can combine two objects but he can’t turn one object into something completely different. In a way, his quirk reminds me of the limitations of alchemy in Fullmetal Alchemist, but there’s a lot more gray area with the Overhaul quirk.

The real question would be about his quirk factor. Without his hands, which seem to be the only focal point of activation, does his quirk factor still exist? Could All For One be used to steal the Overhaul quirk from him as he is now? Could the molecules in his body be rearranged to restore his arms at the cost of something else like say his feet? If that’s the case, it’s very possible we haven’t seen the end of the Overhaul quirk. Hell, even without that kind of interference, a quirk awakening on Chisaki’s part could result in him being able to activate it with another part of his body, maybe.

Horikoshi makes a point of tying quirks in to the users’ personalities, which I think in this case is mostly about Chisaki seeing a world he wishes to reshape to his liking. He refers to people as sick and claims he has the cure, but then his cure should leave the person “not quite the same as before.” He doesn’t really care about what’s lost in the process of achieving his cure. And of course he displays massive hypocrisy in showing no interest to cure his own quirk. He also represents a clear parallel to AFO, given both have such an obsession with bringing order to society where they both stand at the top.

But ironically, I do actually think he is right about quirks, at least as presented in the arc and future plot points; there is a heavy implication that quirks need to be eradicated from the human race or else humans are likely to destroy themselves. I really wonder about the theory presented in the Overhaul arc (manga only) that states quirks arose from a virus carried by mice (Principal Nedzu, anyone?) To recreate humanity without quirks, rendering them “cured” but “not quite the same” seems right in this wheelhouse. I wonder about the repercussions of such an outcome, given how I’ve pointed out how people’s identities are so tied to their quirks. This would be my greatest interest in the Overhaul arc as it relates to the greater MHA story.

ohhh Ohh god I love those suspected traitor Izuku Aus so so much. I adore them, really I do.

Izuku would be absolutely heartbroken that, once again, he’s being blamed for something that wasn’t his fault, that his notebooks are being used against him, that he’s not trusted. It smacks too sharply of being called creepy and useless and getting in trouble over and over again in school for things he never did.  And he’d thought that, with a quirk and in UA, he’d left that kind of thing behind.
