* huh....? * ha. oh, no. * i’m fine, dude. really.

sans laughs, easily. too easily, maybe, but he’s long since used to brushing off his troubles. he’s not one to burden others with his issues -- not his style. the difference of course is that he knows chara wouldn’t mind, really she wouldn’t. but still, it’s not her problem, and he’s fine.

he sighs, and shoves his hands in his pockets, looking her up and down. there is something...... but he’s not sure he wants to bring it up. not yet.

It was always surprising for him when he came back. Asriel would be lying if he said he had any idea how or why it happened. One second he’d vanish and the next he’d feel like he’s slept for almost a year. Still, it was always a relief when he saw Chara. Even though they’ve had their.. moments. To put it nicely.

@fluersamour​ said... here comes chara with a rather large canvas, along with a large basket hanging off one of her arms. seems she actually *did* come in person this time, instead of being aloof. after being let in she sets the basket on the table, before turning to the pair ; flipping the canvas around to reveal the gift. it looks to be a portrait of the pair of them. "i'm a bit rusty with my art -- but i wanted to make you guys something!" and in the basket is a pie she made ( with toriels help ) "happy gyftmas!"

good thing she decided to stay -- the brothers have enough food to feed a small army. she’s literally not allowed to leave until she has gyftmas dinner with them. papyrus is fawning over the portrait, and he picks it up, running around the apartment to find the perfect place to hang it. sans takes the pie, setting it down on the table.

he’s acting pretty aloof himself, but before she can turn away, he stops her again.

and then before she can resist, he’s pulled her into a quick but tight hug.

“You seem awful..lost..”

The humans in the city did not often venture out far away from it...but this is not a human from the city. She thinks she would have remembered someone like this. There’s something different about her, that’s for sure, but she’s too polite to ask about it.

“I am Captain, uhm..” she glances to the statue in the distance, and momentarily, there is a glimpse of distaste on her face, but it’s gone as soon as it came,  and then she looks back at the other, “you might have figured that out, maybe.”

Her brows raise. “It is dangerous to be wandering alone.." One hand rests in front of her, and the other’s slowly held out for her to take..if she wants, that is. She wouldn’t make her do anything.
