Flowery Panic || Tenka & Narihisago

Going outside today was a mistake. Well, going outside was always a mistake one way or another when it came to her, but she felt especially idiotic to have tried to today. The day prior she had eaten a delicious crepe and even spoke with another girl about her worries! She had felt at the time that it was a great achievement of hers, but now she was beginning to believe it was her biggest mistake. Upon waking, she had found herself against the ceiling instead of in her comfortable bed. The worst part of it all was that she couldn’t walk no matter how hard she tried, she simply floated up each time she thought she was safely on the ground. Getting dressed felt like playing a game on the highest difficulty setting, despite the fact that she knew this was only a tutorial level. Her house had a ceiling. The great outdoors? There was nothing like that.
Even so, she had managed to leave the house wearing an oversized hoodie depicting Devitaro, a round, dark purple and odd looking mascot character with horns and bat wings. She usually would have just stayed inside, but there was new Devitaro merchandise coming out that was only available for limited time in stores. Finally, with the tutorial over, it was time for her to actually leave her house during what was the most confusing morning of her life. No pressure. She just had to remind herself that she was doing this for Devitaro. “Tenka...can do this...!”
Making it outside wasn’t too hard...it was what followed that was difficult. She couldn’t seem to make it far without the use of her vines. For once, her abilities seemed to be coming in handy. If she used them to keep herself on the ground, then she could somewhat walk, but...”A-ah...!”
Despite it being her own ability, her control over it was...a bit unreliable. The more she panicked the more vines she could create, but that seemed to only be when she wasn’t trying to focus on it. When she actually needed the ability, nerves got to her to the point where she couldn’t seem to create anymore.
She now held onto what remained of her vines, her body floating towards the sky and only kept somewhat in place due to her weak grip on her plants. “Au...H-help me, Naa-chan...” Her sister had been missing for a full year, and yet she couldn’t help but whine and call out weakly to someone who wasn’t there. At this rate, she was bound to lose her grip and float up into the atmosphere.
