It was one thing to be ducking and diving into the crevices of ruins to avoid all the monsters and beasties crawling about the place. It was another entirely to be sandwiched between a rock and a hard place...
Unfortunately for Cloud (or perhaps fortunately depending on how one wants to look at it) that term was quite literal; with coarse shrapnel of broken cement at his back, and the warm soft body of Aerith pressed up against his front, to say the position was compromising was an understatement and the hard part was a little lower than he knew was really appropriate. Cloud hadn’t meant to take advantage of that closeness, not really; his hands touching upon the rounds of her hips a mere base of support to aid the girl out of the crevice so they could continue their journey.
Of course, it hadn’t panned out that way, when instead of simply slipping back into the open, Aerith drew herself a little closer, a mischievous glimmer dancing in those emerald hues as though she was goading him somehow. Funny how it was only just coming to light right now that he was developing a rather fierce crush on the flower peddler. So fierce in fact that it was beginning to hurt in places Cloud didn’t even know existed. The way she looked at him just now, like he was the most beautiful thing she’s ever seen
As though she wanted him to touch her... and Cloud would be lying to himself if he was to say that he didn’t want to, if he was to deny the warmth of her body coupled with the ghosting of her lips against his was just a little exciting. He could feel his heart fluttering in his chest, so violently he feared Aerith could feel it pounding against his ribs, as he dares to smooth his hands around her waist and pull her just a touch closer, impossibly so. The urge to kiss her got the better of him then, and it was with the smallest lilt of his head that he pressed his mouth against hers, lightly at first as though seeking permission to continue, to deepen the intimacy he craved so much from her, an intimacy he didn’t know he needed until now.
Cloud wanted this, more than he was daring himself to admit, he could only live in hope that she wanted it too...
