Lisa felt the subtle shift in weight upon her bed. Her smile was one of an impishness as she remained with her back turned to the intruder. In her mind, her visitor was her husband making a late night call or maybe, just maybe, in want of comforting company that some of the other wives could not give as she could.

She turned to tease him, words of sexual nature ready to slip over her lips in greeting to her husband, but seeing the outline of a small body pulled her from her position. The light of her bedside lamp clicked on and light illuminated her bedroom, giving her the sight of the small girl she’d so recently given “the talk” to. Having her here in her bedroom was something she had never expected, but again, she knew children could grasp onto someone that oozed a mother’s affection.
