these are all of my own original pieces. I worked very hard on all of them so please give credit.:) Thank You
There are times when I lay in bed awake, I think. I just think about everything. Everything we’ve been through together. Everything we did. Sometimes I feel like I’m actually there again. Back to what happened. When you would hold me close, and I would lay there on your chest, listening to the repetition of your pulse. Your heart in sync with mine. The warmth of your unwavering body. The devotion and stability I felt between you and I. As if nothing would ever happen. That we would eternally be in this insensate sleep.
I think. Oh I think of those stale summer nights. When the air was balmy and crisp. Your wearing your letterman’s jacket. Your jeans would sag and your sneakers were worn down. Driving through a suburban paradise. A small village of well-off people and their minds around money. We’d strip down bare, our bodies free from restraint. We would jump into that fresh pool water. Chills running through our bones. Hoping the home owner wouldn’t catch us. When we’d see a light go on we’d dunk into the cold water. Our bodies would ripple with laughter as they walked away. We would flee naked in the dark. Our hearts racing from the rush. Laughing and roaring with freedom. Laying in the grass, our bodies shivering and pulsating. Smiling in the dark. You’d pull me near your chest beaded with pearls of water. My clavicle rising with deep breaths as you held me, you’d feel my breath against your warm body. Then as we talk, I can feel the vibration of your voice. My heart pounding with adoration. We kiss bare and pure.
How I miss your warmth.
We would ride out of the neighborhood. The night was still young. We scoured the town looking for our next destine. We would stop at the small carnivals. The children laughing and the smell of sugar wafted into our noses. We would run. Run into the park. Occasionally we’d see some friends enjoying a date with one another. But we would pass quickly and carry on to our good time. You would always lose on the go-carts. But you would smile and kiss my forehead as we’d walk to the next ride. The ferris wheel would rotate us. As we’d stare at the gleaming bodies above. Talking about the future and questioning the universe. You would place your letterman onto my shoulders, as you’d pull me near. We’d kiss for what felt like ages. But it was merely five minutes. We would run, our breath was sticky and sweet from cotton candy. Like children we would run into the parking lot. You’d pull me and hold me, my dress would flutter in the light gust. The night would be warm and starry, as I kissed you softly.
We would walk into the rinky-dink dollar store and suavely look around as we would take small trinkets and toys. You’d get the water-guns and I’d get the stickers, we would coyly sneak them into your jacket. We would smile at the lady who was suspicious of us. Then we would go to the register and pay for a key-chain. Walking out, then running into the street, we would pull out the guns and stickers. We would laugh as we sped away hoping not to get caught. I’d slap the stickers onto the back of the car as we watched the sun rise in the meadow. The lilacs would waft in the small breeze, My sneakers were wet from the dewy grass. Then we’d lie there embracing each other, in the back of your truck. You’d tell me lovely things. Things I thought would last for ever. Words that would ring in the back of my mind as I would lay there in your arms. You’d stroke my hair and gaze into my eyes. Your fingers would trace my skin. Leaving a tingle as they lingered. There in the dawns presence we would make love. How sweet it was. The sound of chickadees and sparrows around us. wild peaches and roses encircled our heavy breaths. The moans would echo softly through the rural valley. The lavender and orange cream sky would shine over our alabaster bodies. We would lay for hours.
Then you’d take me home. My house still asleep. You’d kiss me and I’d watch you speed away. But little did I know who to.
And now, I lay here alone. The only warmth I have is from my sheets. I wonder. I wonder. As my salty tears roll down the crest of my jaw. I wonder, why I wasn’t good enough.
