Hey girlies! It's been a bit of a while, but I think it's time all of you take notice of C-beauty!

I know everyone's heard of Flower Knows and their incredible rococo style packaging - and also Florasis for their AMAZING Chinese style packaging, but I'll be introducing some brands that are a bit less fancy and a bit more modern for the y2k, office or casual gal <3

My FIRST brand is GIRLCULT. I don't think a lot of y'all would've heard about this one, but their edgy packaging is WEWWWW - I LOVE IT!!

They have a dark vibe (hinting to the cult 👀) look how SICK their blush packaging looks! It's gives me Chinese female ghoul vibes 👀👀

They also mix it up with the inventive BRIGHT and PUNCHY packaging + colours which has me as an instant fan. I love their vibe so much.

THE NEXT brand I LOVEE and see trending on Chinese social media, INTO YOU! This brand made such a buzz with their SHERO and AIRY lip muds!

Honestly HIGHLY recommend, this brand is known for their everyday looks but with a SPLASH of colour - imo their lip products are chefs KISS.

INTO you is like...the brand you go for when you wanna throw something in your bag as a staple! Some REALLLY really good everyday products here + I will be buying out all their lip and cheek products soon xx

Now for allll the coquette girlies...you'll love this one! FLORTTE!

FLORTTE are literally all things girlie and cute, their 'Love yourself' 4 eyeshadow palette comes with a cute bow charm and eyeshadow applicators ♥️♥️

They also have cute collabs with adorable characters (what cbeauty brand doesn't, come on now lol)

ANOTHER ONE IS SUGAROCK! A newish brand that's showing up on Tiktok, the brand was made by a Chinese drag queen KUDOS!!

Look at these PALETTES OMG. The only caveat is that they're £99, but the CRAFTSMANSHIP!

The covers are velvet suede, IMAGINE 😭

In the past, Chinese women stored their favorite and most precious hairpins & other hair accessories in vanity boxes called zhuanglian/妆奁 or zhuangxia/妆匣. In addition to hair ornaments, zhuanglian contained makeup, combs, and a mirror. Below - Qing dynasty zhuanglian (x):

These boxes were exquisite and hand-made by artisans, and gifted to a girl from her family when she got married as part of her dowry. They were produced and popularized as early as the Warring States period, and remained commonplace into the Qing dynasty (x). Below - Tang dynasty zhuanglian (x):

Zhuanglian came in many shapes and designs. Some of them also had handles for easy carrying. Below - Qing dynasty zhuanglian with handle (x):

Nowadays, hanfu wearers typically store their hair accessories in modern jewelry boxes/containers. However, there are also more traditional options available on Taobao (1, 2):
