“I made my bed in flowers // Grew basil in my hair // I must have walked for hours // Halfway to who knows where” -> this is Floofty talking about going to Snaxburg (“I must have walked for hours half way to who knows where”), the first two lines are talking about before the expedition, when being blacklisted made them struggle to get and/or keep a job - they were pretty much stuck inside and alone.

“God knows I'm only human // I get so inhumane” -> again, this is Floofty. The contrast between wanting to make people’s lives better with their discoveries and how everyone views them as a monster is so fascinating to me and I feel like these two lines sum it up perfectly.

“What if I'm nothing but a cardiac-arresting sweetheart // A half run-over cat left in the street // And you're the maggot craving // Rotten flesh left outside in the heat” -> I imagine being in a relationship with the town gossip as someone like Floofty would feel. Odd. They’re paranoid that Beffica only wants them for the drama. Beffica’s paranoid that Floofty only wants her for experiments. It’s a mess.

“I don't need support 'cause I've got // My underwire bra” -> Neither of them want to admit they need help. Beffica copes by acting catty, Floofty copes with dark humour. Neither of them want to admit they’re not okay.
