The conspiracy in Flightplan would completely fall apart under analysis if it weren't for Peter Sarsgaard's performance throughout, but particularly at the end.
A sensible person would ask "Who on earth would form a plan so painfully precise, that hinges on the scapegoat making some extremely specific choices and also work psychologically torturing said scapegoat and killing her six year old daughter into the deal?"
But you see Peter's performance and go, "Yes, of course this man would do that. Why would he do anything else?"
