#flight practice

My favorite of my most recent drawings I felt like was a good pick for my first post. I drew this (and posted it in other places) a while ago but I love it too much to pick something else

“A little… but I'm mostly stocked.”

When you bring home your new dove and let it have free flight for the first time, you may be unpleasantly surprised to see him/her crash headlong into your walls or ceiling. Just like toddlers learning how to walk, there is a learning curve to flight, and a dove who has spent its entire life caged will not have had the opportunity to master it. Often, all they know is how to go forward and up. Knowing how to stop, bank, or turn takes practice many will not have gotten. The good news is that practice makes perfect, and with continued practice, your dove will get the hang of his/her controles. ^v^ The average bedroom is between 8x8 and 10x10 feet, which is enough practice space to make injury less likely. If you are worried, though, you can start free flights in a smaller space like a bathroom and work your way up to the larger bedroom space.

Now we’re in the spare room learning how much fun it is to *not* fly directly into the windows whenever we’re out of our cage

       So he wanted to help... and even if he couldn’t physically fly... he figured a little flight practice could be in order.
