Anywhat, these are some quick sketches i gave out as gifts for the Flight Chatter 2020 House Cup!

Yep. Raided, all users banned, all channels deleted, all content removed. Here’s what happened, and here’s where you can rejoin the new server. We’re nothing if not resilient.

Firstly, we want to apologize for any inconvenience the sudden disappearance of the Flight Chatter server has caused.

The series of events that caused the irreversible damage to the Flight Chatter server were impromptu and unforseen. These past twenty-four hours have been confusing, and you folks deserve an explanation. We will try to be as clear as possible in delivering, to our best understanding, what went down.

In the following explanation, EST will be used for all timestamps. We also want to put out a disclaimer not to witchhunt those users named here, we post all the information we have to offer an explanation and nothing more.

At 10:54PM last night (the 3rd of March), after weeks long discussion with the admins and most moderators, we had decided to let FR user Masumi go from our staff. This was in response to harmful behavior toward staff and regular users in the past coupled with uncomfortable uses of admin power (which they required to edit the bots within our server, despite being a moderator). The conversation went relatively smoothly, in response to their demotion user Masumi had removed our entire rules, a few announcements, and the bots were kicked per their wishes. Most staff members went to bed. At 2:45 AM today (the 4th of March), the audit log catches an odd edit: click. Masumi, who should have all admin and moderator power removed, has edited a role. On closer inspection, one of our already created roles, "Writer", has been outfitted with admin permissions, and now Masumi has edited it further - changing the name in the process and causing the edit to catch and register in discord's automatic audit log. We believe Masumi was tipped to their moderation role removal from another of our staff (since removed) and "planned" accordingly. This is a theory so we are not going to name them until more hard proof comes in.

Around 2:53 AM today (the 4th of March), nine users enter at once. They assign themselves the earth role and the aforementioned Writer2 role, granting them all admin permissions. In less than a minute, our 700 person community had been banned, our channels were deleted, and over a years worth of content lost for good. We are still investigating where those users might've came from, and if we find hard evidence in the coming days, that too will be shared with our community. In short, the server was raided by a group and decimated overnight. A recently demoted moderator on our team directly created a backdoor to let the raiders in and destroy the server. We don't want to crucify those involved, but shed light on the actions taken against our community. The FC has been attacked and deleted before, but we'll come back from this as we always have. Here's to a new, safe, stable server.

This announcement is purely for your information. We want to make the events of the past 24 hours as clear as possible. Again, we do not approve and we will actively discourage any witch hunts or discussion of witch hunting.
