The ambush had gone exactly as planned, and she could only hope that it continued to be without interference. Kara was in her element, newly evolved mutant abilities no match for centuries worth of metaphysical design.
The blood which coated the child's body absorbed quickly into her skin, mutant DNA a far more satisfying meal than human, especially when it was as corrupted as that of the ones that she had targeted.
Lashing out as a figure rounded the corner the abomination stopped suddenly. This blood was clean, at least for the most part. Even as the person fell she knew she had made a mistake, harmed someone she should not have.
Gathering the unconscious stranger in her arms was difficult, not due to lack of strength, but merely lack of size. Despite the difficulties thought the child manages, smoothing back the stranger's hair before walking straight into the shadows of the wall.
Emerging in the small home where she lived with her grandmother Kara places her accidental victim on the couch and does her best to bandage the wound hoping that they'd either wake up soon or her grandmother would come home.
