The amount of curvature missing at 600 miles is approx. 240,000 feet.

The amount of curvature missing at 740 miles is approx. 365,067 feet.

The amount of curvature missing at 1,200 miles is approx. 960,000 feet.

Below are charts for figuring out the Curvature of the Earth according to Science Journals, NASA & the like...

the formula is simple...

For the 1st mile the curvature is 8inches...1 mile x 8 inches = 8 inches

But because we “live on a sphere” or “oblate spheroid”, we have to Square each mile after the first mile.

So...

2 miles squared...(which is 2 x 2 = 4) x 8 inches = 32 inches

3 miles squared...(which is 3 x 3 = 9) x 8 inches = 72 inches

4 miles squared...(which is 4 x 4 = 16) x 8 inches = 128 inches

5 miles squared...(which is 5 x 5 = 25) x 8 inches = 200 inches

And so on...

(you divide your answer by 12 inches to work it out to Feet)...then,

(you divide your answer by 5,280 feet to work it out to Miles)

Formula for Earth's Curvature is simple...

Each mile is squared then multiplied by 8...

8 inches is the curvature/mile squared...

So for the Suez Canal@120 miles long is as follows...

120 miles X 120 miles = 14,400  (that's a 120 miles squared)

14,400 X 8 inches = 115,200  (that's the curvature in inches)

115,200 inches divided by 12 inches = 9,600 feet (12 inches in a foot)

So the Suez Canal should show the Earth's curve at 9,600 feet.

It doesn't...it is level from one end to the other.
