(part 2) but I also got bored a lot and easily, I guess felt trapped by the strict rules in heaven or something (?).. All I know is that I rebelled, failed and got sent to earth as a punishment. Oh I also remember that I had two curved golden weapons of some kind and that I wore something with a hood at some point. I also remember an angel called something like Sachiel. "Oh really?"

"Ya really!"

How the joke had started in the first place, neither of them could remember.  It was just a thing they did: One of them would say something fairly obvious, and the other would respond “Oh really?” as though they had never considered such a fascinating bit of information before.  Hardly a week went by in the years they knew one another where they hadn’t said this at least once… It also happened to be one of the more important things either of them had ever said.

"You should ask him out." Flynn said as he nudged Ariel and waggled his eyebrows playfully at her.  This was another thing that was often said (more to Flynn than to Ariel as he was the one who seemed to have a new girl on his tail every week) and Ariel greeted it with a roll of her eyes and a returning nudge.

"Noooo." she responded.  "He’s probably not interested in me.  Besides, I’m happy just looking at him—"

"And doodling ‘I heart Eric’ and ‘Ariel + Eric forever’ all over your notebook—"

"Shut up!"

"And building shrines for him in your bedroom—"

"Shut UP!"

She gave him a much harder shove, and Flynn couldn’t help but laugh at how flustered she was.  It took him nearly half a minute to calm down as Ariel’s cheeks turned pink with embarrassment.  ”No but seriously Red, why not?” he pestered.  ”He’d be an idiot to say no to you.  You’re gorgeous, you’re smart, you’re funny… Hell, if you asked me out, I’d say yes.”

"Oh really?" she laughed.

"Ya really."

"… Wait, really?"
