flarepelt - named for his bushy fur, a mark of pride for him as it makes him look more like his father raggedstar. he wouldn't know until much later that his birth mother would name him for the warmth in her she felt seeing him alive at her belly, much like his brother brokentail being named for the following heartbreak of knowing they would never know how much she cared for them.
inspired by @sootslash's post on reimagining characters with other parents, this was the first thing that came to mind
