I wasn't going to attempt writing any kind of fan account when I got back from United Cube at about 12.45am. Right now, 24 hours later, I am barely any more coherent. But this is for myself so I remember everything about this amazing night, and also for flannelcat who put up with me screeching at her because she's a starrrrr, and for ninestories who wanted to know all about it 8D

Even now I can't quite get my head around the fact that we actually got to see Beast in real life. But at the same time I only have to think of Doojoon and I can just picture him up there on stage, grinning like an idiot throughout pretty much the entire set. Of course I was excited before the concert, finally getting to meet up with flannelcat was a bonus here too :3 Walking into Brixton Academy where I've been so many times before to see people like The National, Tool, The Mars Volta and Queens of the Stone Age... well, it was just the most bizarre thing to be going there for something like United Cube. A year ago I never would have even imagined that there would ever be kpop concerts in the UK. 

ninestories has really whetted my appetite (for Doojoon and Dongwoon lololol) with her photos and fancams from the Korean Wave concert on Saturday so I kept thinking how excited I was to be able to see them for myself. At the same time I wasn't sure how much of a head of flail I would get up because, let's face it, I'm getting on a bit. BUT APPARENTLY THAT DOESN'T MATTER IN THE SLIGHTEST WHEN FACED WITH YOUR BIAS IN REAL LIFE. OMG.

4minute were cute, G.Na I do love and she was really good - getting the crowd going a bit and making the most of the fact that she was the only fluent English speaker on stage. But nothing NOTHING, NO. WORDS. can begin to convey what the hell happened to my nearly 30 year old brain when Beast appeared. All I can remember thinking is "FUCK JUNHYUNG IS TALLER THAN I EXPECTED" and then "WAIT.... JUNHYUNG. YONG JUNHYUNG IS THERE. FSDHGAFSJHGDKAJSAAAAAAAAASKJFGKAJSHLDJALHSK." after that it's anyone's guess. I seem to remember that I kept grabbing hold of flannelcat's arm and yelling "OMG DOOJOON'S FAAAAAAAAAACE" at her xD

they started with Shock - in fact it's easy for anyone to find out which songs the boys performed because there's a lot of decent fancams out there already. Special has always been one of my favourite Beast songs but it was probably the only one I was a little disappointed in. The sound just seemed a little off in places. The different version of Oasis they did was pretty cool. Freeze was adorable - you know the slightly dorkfaced choreography they had for their comeback performances of 니가 제일 좋아 ? it felt a bit like that, almost as if the boys were making it up themselves and they were just having the best time ever. Junhyung did this little run up a couple of the steps on the left side of the stage and jumped off like a little 5 year old, it was adorable. Dongwoon's voice cracked a tiny bit during You and of course Doojoon laughed at him - that's just how he is. He was completely cracking up all over the place, and it's that gorgeous cheeky grin of his that I keep thinking of now. I actually had to take a moment to myself at work this afternoon because I thought I was either going to squeal or cry xD I can't believe that something I had looked forward to so much was over that quickly AND NOW I JUST WANT TO SEE THEM AGAIIIIIIIIIIIN. seriously considering the idea of visiting Korea at some point in 2012 if I'm feeling brave enough ;A;

Favourite song of the night, I think it has to be Beautiful. It's just the ultimate happy spazz song and both myself and flannelcat were really getting into it when these two guys turned up right in front of us with a camera and started filming us dancing. GAH. how embarrassing. I tried to carry on but I got really self conscious and just kept thinking "go awayyyyy I have to keep an eye on 2jun during this song" :| actually, I think I kept my eyes on those two throughout most of the night. Doojoon because he just looked so fucking ecstatic, Junhyung because bloody hellfire that bamf is swag as fuck. yes, he's also a dorkface but he just exudes this coolness at the same time. and I may have perved over the leather trousers a little. so sue me.

Yoseob seemed a little quiet, I don't know if maybe he felt a bit overwhelmed by the whole thing or his voice was suffering. Brixton has always been one of my favourite venues for getting a good view of the stage, but one of my least favourites for sound quality. Dongwoon was doing 99% of the talking in between because he's the only one who knows much English but even then it was hard to understand what he was saying. I'm sure it was adorable whatever it was :3 Kikwang... I don't know, I have to say I wasn't paying much attention to him. Hyunseung will forever be awkward but he gets so into his performance that even when he's not singing his lines he's posing his arms and whatnot, like reeeeeally serious. During V.I.U he started doing something stupid (hey, that's what that song's FOR, right? :D ) and Doojoon walked over to him, joined in for about 2 seconds and then just went "naaaaah" and walked away leaving Seung looking a bit confused, bless.

Are certain Canadian boys welcome too?
