1. my childhood was very happy and safe and i am very grateful for that2. i lived in barbados until i was 5 and back then i thought that aside from barbados the whole rest of the world was canada 3. i once almost died in the ocean not really but i was 4 or 5 and we were at the beach and my sister and i went in to the water and we swam out a bit too far and the waves were really big and for some reason i thought if i tried swimming towards the shore the waves would drag me backwards ?? because logic ?? so i had to wait there in the water pissing my pants while my sister swam back and got my dad to come save me my hero4. once when i was like 4 i guess i realized i could open the gates of our front yard so i kept sneaking outside for like an hour just to chill on the street and stuff and get a taste of the wild side and running back in when my mom would call for me but then my mom caught me and sent me to bed without dinner and i was traumatized because we were having spaghetti and meatballs and i still remember having crept out of bed and sitting on the stairs watching everyone else enjoy their meatballs and we never had spaghetti and meatballs after that and i didn’t have them until like 3 years ago for the first time tragic5. i used to think that when a song played on the radio the artist was actually at the radio station singing it live6. i used to think there were small people sitting inside traffic lights controlling them and would’ve quite liked to be one of those people7. in preschool we had to have an extra pair of underwear in our baskets in case we had an accident and one time my underwear somehow got lost and when we were in line waiting to go to lunch the teacher held them up in front of everyone and asked whose they were and everyone laughed so i just went along with it and i still cringe to this day rip
