(hi sorry this took so long to answer, thank you for the ask! it ended up being relevant to some writing im doing atm and got a bit more complex than i anticipated!)

Most relevant for scrim currently, it's been isolating itself recently, largely to cope with its slowly snowballing Peckish Score [that's been out of control bc I've been struggling to find time to play for the last few months]. Its well-intentioned move to prevent putting those it cares for at risk has resulted in having basically nothing to ground it, which has just made the spiral worse.

This ultimately culminated in a few things, kickstarted by a visit from The Spectacled Beholder, ( @cave-n-dish ) in which its Hunger was used to warp reality enough to allow Cavendish the final step they needed to go and then win their Heart's Desire, leaving scrim trapped in its shack.

One of the Scrimshander's Fingers, Ernie Fowl, was joined by one of the Rook's Wings, ( @zeebreezin ) in an attempt to diffuse the situation, but it turned south quickly — the Scrimshader broke Ernie's arm and rapidly lost its own sense of self to such a degree that it no longer existed fully, warping the Shack into an unreal space, one the Wing was shortly lost too.

That left Laith Vainley, the Grubby Urchin Butler, nothing to do left but follow through on his original plan: Kill the Scrimshander. After a brief fuss with Captain Twitchery ( @capn-twitchery ) to retrieve his bullet and a threat from Captain Hart ( @elleryhart ), he set off for the shack and did what had to be done, growing up significantly in the process.

Laith is determined to ensure the Sixfinger'd Scrimshander is not dead for good, but already, memory of it is slipping from London. Can't put a name to its face, then a face to the form, than a form to the moment. Forgetting when you got that old trinket, or why you left the window unlocked.
