#i think i picked an End Goal for rental car#which is a different direction than i envisioned while also still having p cool potential#like. idk where the main antagonist fits in? like there's a Bastard; who does bastard things#but the actual end point is simply A Force#also i thought too hard abt my dumb campy horror bullshit plot and like....#all the little worldbuilding bits that were MEANT to just be an excuse to justify writing a fun lil story about Creatures#n was like. hold on. what if i did this. and what if this meant that. and what if instead of simply A Justification i instead#actually delved into these really interesting little worldbuiling details and create a whole system and--#and well here i am. i fucking guess#its annoying bc i now have to strike a genuine balance between ''this exists because it fucking rules'' and like....#This Actually Makes Sense#fjfjdjd#also the more i fiddle with this the more im like#violent? yes. mind bendy? yes. horrific? yes. but is it horror though. maybe not#i feel like my brand of horror when i write is more horror adjacent#like#this is an adventure story! or. this is a fantasy story! or. this is a mystery story! with the horror caveat being#Unless You Think About It Too Hard#the unreality in atdao is crammed full of existential horror and is quite visibly gruesome and tense but also its just like#tris is just on a little adventure its fine :) dont think about it too hard :)#tris comes face to face with whatevers on the flipside of existence and stares into complete and total nothingness and it almost#melts his tiny human brain but Never Mind All That
