have spent the last couple days helping my friend out with his ‘89 FJ1200!

it’d been sitting for who knows how long when he bought it, so naturally everything was fuckin crusty. so far we have:

- drained and rebuilt the rear caliper. the old brake fluid smelled like cat piss and one of the pistons was heat gun level encrusted in there. got it out tho.

- rebuilt the clutch master cylinder. forgot the pushrod once but got it back together proper, and got it bled.

- yoinked the carbs out for a good proper clean. i only stripped one screw, which happened to be in the slide on cylinder two, so. that fucker isn’t going anywhere.

- reassembled everything. found that the last owner had gotten about half way through a fuel line swap before giving up, so we had a mystery hose for a minute, which is always fuckin stressful. they were kind enough to leave the nice new fuel line attached to the tank though, so that’s good.

- fired her up and she runs!

today we have to sync the carbs but after that she should be ready to ride!
