Hello Wicked Fanfic Fam!
The LOVELY folks over at the @fiyerabasource Discord Server put together a Pride event for June called "HOW BRIGHT WE SHINE" and I decided I'm going to try my hand at a drabble series surrounding a Shiz LGBTQ+ Club -- so far the plan is for 8 drabbles, updated daily-ish, posted here on Tumblr and then sent to AO3 once the series is done :) Will this end up happening all before the end of June? No idea, but it's good to dream.
If you had asked Elphaba who she thought would be present at the first ever Shiz GSA meeting she wouldn't have guessed it would have included The Charmed Circle.
Yet Nessa was there --because Boq was there.
Boq was there to support Galinda.
Galinda was there to chapperone Elphaba.
But Elphaba was there to study Fiyero.
Fiyero who, despite spending most of his waking moments perfecting a flawless public image, was standing at the door offering everyone bi-fives and directing people to the table at the back—filled with plates of PANcakes, GAYtorade, and a 'taste the rainbow' fruit platter.
Fiyerba and Gelphie shippers fighting again. Ugh. You guys are arguing over whether strawberry or rocky road is better. Fiyerba is the canonical romance. But. Gelphie is the central relationship that gets the lion's share of the development. But. The relationship isn't necessariy romantic or even healthy. It's very possible to play both girls as straight. But It's increasingly common for actresses to queer their performances. And it can really work and rip out your heart. But. So can Fiyerba. And both can be a trainwreck that derails the show.
Lay off each other. You're both right.

I bet you if those lines were uttered to Elphaba by Glinda they would be gushing about how they are swooning over it. They even admitted that they are a Gelphie fan. I do love both Fiyerba and Gelphie, but I have preference towards Fiyerba and I have shipped them way longer than I shipped Gelphie. They ignore the fact that Glinda had to learn to look at Elphaba differently as well. But Gelphie have this hypocritical habit of seeing anything romantic Fiyero does as cringe, but if Glinda did the same thing, it is the most romantic thing ever.
