I get that Matt was just “playing true to character in the moment”, but here’s the thing:

He designed the character.

He designed the kidnappers.

He determined who they would run into on the way.

He worked with Ashly on developing her character and her character’s relationship with the antagonists. (Which played no small part.)

He elected not to give them a NPC companion with any healing abilities in light of the temporary imbalance.

It’s one thing to not go easy on your players when it’s just you and them. But this entire campaign has been designed and executed with the knowledge that it would also be consumable media. With the knowledge that there would be thousands of people impacted by this.

Go fucking easy on us, the viewers. These characters and this narrative actually mean something to us. We have no control over the players’ actions and we’re still early in the campaign. What the fuck.

I’m livid.

(Also, I will probably delete this tomorrow after I’ve calmed down. But right now I am PISSED.
