I could talk about the dynamics between these two forever. They change A LOT over the course of their time in college so this is kinda all over the place.

Initially Asher is just Sadie's annoying asshole boyfriend to Georgia. Meanwhile Georgia is Sadie's newest shadow. Neither of them understand what Sadie sees in the other. Despite the fact that the two of them are in constant contact because of a similar club and Sadie, they speak maybe five times freshman year.

At the end of spring semester freshman year, Sadie and Asher break up, and Georgia swears, "I will never ever like Asher Sudol." (In just a general "like" way.)

Sophomore year, Georgia and Asher are in the same subgroup of their club. Because they live near each other and Asher has a car and Georgia doesn't, he is constantly asked by the leader to pick her up and drive her to different locations. They end up spending a lot of time together in the car and eventually find common ground in music taste and childhood games and opinions on most things. Georgia discovers how fun it is to start arguments with Asher because he gets so passionate, and Asher learns Georgia has a sense of humor that's darker and sharper than he could have expected.

Neither of them acknowledge their friendship in public because of Sadie and Trystan drama.

They slowly become each other's confidants opening up about their relationships with each other's friends and they start to realize they have feelings for each other.

Georgia grows distant because she's afraid of losing Sadie, and Asher grows mean because he's frustrated with the fact that she won't date him.

Despite attempting to stay away from each other, the other always seems to notice when something's going wrong and always shows up when they're needed. Inevitably they grow close and the cycle of distant and mean repeats.

In public, people think they're somewhat friends from the club but mostly don't like each other because of how things went down with Asher and Sadie.
