1885 Fairbanks and Cole Imperial Fretless
"This is an early example from the partnership of A. C. Fairbanks and William Cole of Boston Massachusetts. The rim is 11-1/2" in diameter with the extra bevel in the interior. All of the rim hardware appears original with the log, two pointed shoes and the closed, ball end nuts with fancy turnings. The tailpiece is carved ivory. The neck is mahogany with ebony peghead and long back strapping. The ebony fingerboard has flush, ivory frets and some dubious inlay.Nice playing antique banjo."
