spring time sport
I miss the sport that gave me the finger when I worked my hardest. From the moment I wept when I fell on the red track, to when I missed finals by a hair. My skin was moisturized by sweat and the spilled water. The sun wouldn’t shine and I hated the cold. The pain in my joints made me feel old. My last race wasn’t even about making it big. It was over when I saw my mom and immediately broke down. Of all meets, she had chosen the day I brought everything from home onto the track. As much as my coach and my team wanted me to, I did not overcome.
