actually i have some pretty damning evidence:

——    It wasn’t really a flashy display, if not a bit cheesy; Ieyasu stuck to the basics, yet ultimately resulted in a rather heartfelt display of affection. Bouquet of flowers, strung together in some ornate yet fairly cheap wrapping, only serving as a compliment to the brilliant red petals.

Though the flowers are store-bought, the minute sachet carries homemade sweets. Chocolates, of course, in a variety of shapes, though the most noticeable are the crude little hearts Ieyasu tried his best to make look a little less misshapen.. But it’s the taste that counts! They’re a little too sweet, but nothing inedible.

Finally, once again a store bought item, though  the card seems to be cherry picked just for Motochika, carrying an, admittedly silly, pirate pun. It’s contents carried a lot more genuine, though, hand written neater than usual, with a message he tried to keep as short and sweet as possible.

Dear, Motochika,

Happy Valentine’s Day!  I saw this and thought of you, but all jokes aside, I’m really happy and grateful I get to spend this day with you. I’ve never really had someone special to spend Valentine’s Day with, and being with you is, more than anything, a greater gift than any rose or chocolate.

Thank you again. I couldn’t ask for a better man!
