This is genuinely THE MOST EXCITING THING that has happened to me in months.

My salt and pepper pygmy corys (C. habrosus, recently reclassified as Hoplisoma habrosum) are here!!!!!! They are absolutely TINY, maybe 2cm at most. They were tank bred by a fellow hobbyist, which is very important to me because otherwise they’re typically wild caught. I’m hoping that they will over time become more commonly available as tank bred fish!

It was hard to get photos of them, they do not sit still. They are like a little flock of birds to me.

Remember how my new shrimp tank is all just leftover materials and some plants and wood from a pre existing tank? I didn’t put any fish in there.

Somehow, in my SHRIMP ONLY TANK, I have a BABY PYGMY CORY????? I have absolutely no idea how this guy ended up in there but this is the most exciting thing I’ve ever had happen to me.

Guppies!!! It’s hard to get a photo of them all together lmao, fish photography tips are very welcome!

Yes I’m worried about the yellow/orange female, her fins have been clamped for the most part. I’m hoping she’s just stressed and will adjust soon!

Baby Guppy (who I never noticed until today is female and also kind of yellowish!) and her new bestie. Sometimes he chases the other female guppies around too lmao

I noticed the possible beginning of fin rot on some of my corys, I’m treating with antibiotics to be safe. I might have also seen a fin fluke on one of them, but these corys do not hold still lmao. I did a dose of prazipro because I would rather be overly cautious than underly cautious.

But this is all happening in my tank because I don’t have a quarantine tank (technically I do but the shrimp are still living inside it), and that’s fine since they’re the only fish in that tank other than baby guppy, but it’s not ideal.
