My Ivory Snails
My snails are honestly so neat to have. I started with just the one, but it was so fun to watch him move around the tank. They were both very small when I got them from the pet store, but they get to be 1-2 inches sometimes.
Charlie is my bigger one, Jimbo is newer and smaller.
Snails are great for keeping tank algae under control, like plecos (sucker-fish) or small shrimp. Sometimes I worry that I keep my tank too clean and there’s not enough algae for them both, so I usually supplement them with some algae wafers, which are good because they’re made with calcium which will promote their shell growth. Today I got them some moss balls, they won’t devour them usually but hopefully it gives them some debris to nibble on.
