The first haunted object we took care of was an old computer possessed by a woman named Elisa Reyes. This was in the 80s. We are not sure why, as technological objects are much less durable than other vessels.

This was an ‘echo’; a ghostly recording that operates in cycles. You would walk alone at night by this building, she would scream from the window, point at you then run back inside. People would feel paranoia of being followed until they managed to go to sleep.
If a ghost rules over a group of less powerful spirits we call it a ‘master’. If said ghost remains on top for a long time, its essence becomes intrinsic to the place of the haunting. We call these ghosts ‘lords’.
In 1946, after major structural damage ignored by the landlord of the Fishburg Building, a new visitor took residence in its walls, bringing the blackest of diseases with it. We simply called it ‘The Mold'.

The previous master of the building had been the ghost of Adelaide Blue, an old descendant of settlers who found an even greater power in death than what she had in life. She twisted the wills of the dead at Fishburg and fed off their pain for more than one century.
Most ghosts lose their human shape past a certain time; usually a couple centuries does it, but not her. We call her ‘The Berber Princess’ and has retained her shape for more than a thousand years.
This meant every new emerging spirit in the building would share a distinct aspect, akin to the new master’s . People wouldn’t retain their ego once crossing to the other side, turning instead into lesser aspects of The Mold. This was a problem.
