OK YAYYY i'll talk abt skirnir bc tennor has so insane amt of lore n i don't wanna make this post that longggg ill have to fully write it out some day BUT SKIRNIR !! name shamelessly stolen from my good friend skirnir norse mythology ehehe. oh ya and thehre both dnd ocs ^_^

skirnir is like 23 and was raised as an exorcist by his very strict traditional family. he's like honestly the worst. comically arrogant and smug and abrasive and full of himself. by the end of session one EVERYONEEE hated him. to contrast another party member shot someone in the face and they still ended on better terms than skirnir did with like. Anyone.
in his defense though it all stems from a very deep fear of failure and inadequacy but. he is still kind of awful to be around i cannot lie
he's also a cologne enthusiast and overdoes the cologne and gives everyone in radius a terrible headache because he doesn't keep his mouth shut and he smells like fucking nauseatinggg.
this arrogance is really funny to me specifically because he talks so much shit while having the lowest HP in the party and started with a whole SIX (6) HP π₯π₯π₯ !!! also he rolls like horrifically bad. like i started questioning if my friend weighted the dice he gave me from how low my rolls were. last session i never rolled anything above an 11 π but i know they're fine cause they roll so normal when i play for tennor so like idfk my dice hate skirnir which is valid but i digress
despite being The Worst he does have a soft spot for these two kids pictured aboveee. if only because they support almost all of his actions unconditionally. he swears he don't gaf and those are NOT his kids but he'd actually give his life up for them and all self preservation goes out the window for those two. every npc we come across immediately is like Ah You're The Father. I See. before he even speaks. they can't speak and only click and hiss and skirnir is the only one who can understand them. they are a bonded group DO NOT separate they do in fact have separation anxiety.
now his kids are a whole different story but basically from his pov they just call themselves one (green) and two (blue) and just suddenly showed up one day and started following him around while he was just wandering his college campus. after getting into an argument that started getting physical with another student the kids jumped in and straight beat that guys ass for him so he was mildly intimidated and also flattered into letting them stick around.
gameplay wise those kids are my friend's characters and they are fucking tanks and take every hit for skirnir π they've saved his ass so many times. actual powerhouses for no reason they straight nuked a mini boss in one turn ending combat.
the kids have their 'friend', aka the weird possibly ghost but definitely powerful entity which stalks them and is vaguely malicious but protects them. skirnir can in fact see this entity but on account of being an exorcist who has to get rid of ghosts his interests kind of conflict with the existence of this entity. but he can't really get rid of them because the kids are very clearly attached. so he just pretends he's unaware (the entity very much knows he knows).
in college he has this roommate who we never properly gave a name but he's an anthropomorphic raven and his and skirnir r lowkey homoerotic with it that's not really important but it kind of is for later.
this is all his lore pre campaign. as for when it actually starts, it begins the night skirnir is beginning to clean out his dorm after graduation and a strange disembodied voice tells him about how hes destined to try and save the world from the horrors that he's about to face.
boom wakes up with his kids and he's with the party in front of this strange haunted temple. basically they go in there almost die a few times, end up in a labyrinth owned by a goddess of mazes where the only way out is to venture through the maze and go to each town named after a direction and retrieve a special key from there.
not too much important lore specific to him happens here they're just making their way through and getting keys BUT. in north town iirc they do in fact meet a guy named yechid who's Ugly As Fuckk, a shapeshifter, and who's whole thing is turning the townspeople into horrible monstrous creatures that suffer.
last we ended we were in the middle of battle with the yechid and our dm told me he is not targeting skirnir because he likes how fucking awful he is to be around. huge Win. and then the dm told me if i can successfully romance him skirnir can unlock an insane power up so like now im on toxic yaoi quest LMFAO
that's all skirnir lore for nowww but i'm sure this post will be able to become ten times the length in a few weeks ehehe
