27. favourite national celebrity?

27. Favourite national celebrity?
Well, Malaysia doesn’t really have any singers and actors that I personally like to be honest. It’s not my style. But i don’t know if I can consider this a celebrity but there is a sportsman we have. His name is Lee Chong Wei and he is our national badminton player that has won many global matches. The reason I like him is because back in the semi-finals of the 2016 Olympics, LCW won against the opponent who has been beating him in badminton matches for YEARS in the Olympics. He would always fall second to this competitor. But in 2016, in the semi-finals, he won. And when he scored the winning point, you could hear cheers from late night cafés, pubs, apartment buildings and almost the entire nation, watching the match, at 1 am mind you. It was only the semifinals but it was truly an emotional moment for us which brought us together. Lee Chong Wei unfortunately did not win in the finals, but he still made Malaysians very proud and his responsibility and determination to represent our country is what I admire most about him. I still don’t know if I can consider him a celebrity though.
Thanks for the question, bbg :) x
