Alright, I'm playing catch up! Jinx and the temple of Janna.
I finally had time to sort all the thoughts I had seeing the trailer and especially the part in the ātempleā.
(Disclaimer: I studied art history/contemporary art and stylists. I have a mind that likes to look for meaning and symbols. As a result, I may dig too deep.)
First thing, this is a ruined temple, a once holy place, a house of a god. And it is Jinx's paintings covering the wall, specifically her life and the events that made her.
It's her life story that made her something else, something more, perhaps even something to believe in. In a way, you could place her as the ādaughter of Jannaā in this location. (The children of gods are often raised by mortals.)
There's already some talk of her being seen as some sort of spirit or symbol of Zaun, so we see the creation of jinx (but not necessarily the death of Powder) the creation of an idol. Another thing that adds weight: She's already been resurrected once.
There's also the death of the mentor/father figure. Something that often must happen to open and find the child's own path - not the way but of the one who held your hand, but your own way.
It is a lovely, tranquil, creepy setup that heralds her as a beacon, a symbol, a rebel - the (vengeful)spirit of Zaun.
I hope part of her mission becomes - all your attention on me - so you miss those moving to build, to live to thrive away from you who hold us down.
A different take or a simultaneous take is that this is a shrine and an acknowledgement of what she has been through, her memories. Even Powder gets shown here. She's not hidden or muffled away for a change.
And it's an interesting parallel with Ekko, who has the mural to remember. It's a place of remembrance, and I imagine catharsis and succour.
Is this her finding a place to safeguard and process her memories?
Maybe it will be a way to connect. It was and is a language they both know (art), I think that was part of the reason they understood each other so well as children.
Ekko is not present in the images, which are mostly Silco, Vi and Vander. But in this being a reflection of an act he's done, I'd say it may well be a setup for the next chapter.
Itās interesting that, now left to her own devices, she seems to have given her past a literal place. A place that is one both of becoming and ruin.
Anyway, in short, she's on her āownā no one for her to follow or shape her and possibly let go of the weight of her memories - What choices will she make? And what freedom has she gained or lost?

THIS IS AWESOME!!!!Ā
THIS IS NOT A DRILL. THE FIRST TRAILER FOR THE LAST OF US SEASON 2 HAS DROPPED!!!!!!
I need to let it out of myself.
I donāt have good feelings about this.
Iām biased, cause How to Train Your Dragon holds a special place in my heart. Itās one of my favorite movie trilogies and I still think that probably one of the best Iāve ever seen (in case of maintaining the level of storytelling), even with some issues with the third one.
Doing live action remake that early is completely unnecessary, as it always is (sorry not sorry, in my opinion institution of ālive action remakesā is ridiculous). Usually I just donāt care, but this time itās hard not to. Especially after seeing first teaser.
It looked so⦠bad. Everything was so grim, dark and dull which is basically contradictory to animated original. Second ātrailerā (more like teaser) looks better: itās more saturated and brighter so at least vibe is more similar. But I canāt look at characters. Iām sorry, but what is that?
You know, inherent problem with making that story live action is character design. All of the characters are very cartoonish. They have exaggerated characteristics that clearly align with their personalities. They can appear in many different sizes and shapes, much more varied than in real life. And their outfits match all that. It works perfectly for animation but it doesnāt with real people. Maybe itās just me, but all actors Iāve seen in teasers look just stupid. Those horned helmets? Please, donāt. The costumes look like someone was having a dilemma about whether they wanted Game of Thrones-style costumes or a faithful "cosplay" of the animated version. The result is a weird hybrid of the two, and it looks off-putting.
I HOPE Iām wrong, I hope the movie wonāt be awful. Maybe the finale product is going to look better. Maybe actors can pull it through and make it less bad. Maybe. But first and foremost why even do that (I know, money), why not some original story? Or, hell, they could have done sth more faithful to the books⦠Anyway, thatās just some of my thoughts.
