(This was fun to write!!! Thank you for requesting!!!)
Techno was stressed.
Honestly Dream had noticed right away but he hadn't really thought about mentioning it because he assumed that it'd get sorted out.
Of course, he wasn't right all the time.
Phil was the first to actually bring it up, noticing the tenseness in the man's shoulders and the tiredness to his eyes. Of course he was worried, it was only natural.
Techno waved it off- 'I'm fine, I just need a nap'- and he continued on like the exchange didn’t happen.
Dream really did try to mind his own business with it. But, then Tommy and Wilbur caught on, poking fun at the messier hair of the Blade and the way he seemed out of it more often lately. Of course, the two showed worry in their own ways and it gained a slight smile but Techno, again, just waved them off.
Finally, Dream found the question pushing at his lips as Techno walked with him towards the square so they could do some shopping. He didn't quite know how to ask, but he figured he could formulate it in some way. So he stopped and Techno stopped with him, glancing over.
"Something wrong?"
Dream didn’t answer right away, which made Techno grow a bit paranoid until he shook his head. “Nothing’s wrong... well- not with me,” he glanced around before he brought his hand up, sliding his mask off to the side to give a concerned stare to the other. “Are you okay?”
Techno’s brows raised slightly in surprise from the sudden confrontation, and his arms crossed defensively despite his expression not really changing. “I’m fine. Why?”
Dream sent him a different look and crossed his arms over his chest, a dare in his eyes. "Lie again and I'm telling Phil," he warned before relaxing a bit. "Your less focused and tired- more than usual. Has something been bothering you?"
Techno didn't answer at first but that was a given- he hardly every talked about what bothered him. But, he let out a sigh and looked around, similar to how Dream did. "Been overthinking the next event," he answered honestly, rubbing the back of his neck.
Dream nodded, gesturing for him to go on with a subtle smile. It was good! Techno actually talking to him this easily was good.
"I uh... I dunno," he looked up, "after my screw ups in the last one- especially in the parkour department, I've been thinking of how to fix it so none of you guys get held down."
He shook his head a bit. "I... Felt so bad after the last one- making a few of you guys help me out," he sighed again. "I just... Don't want it to happen again..." He fell silent for a moment, but then jumped as arms wrapped around him tightly.
v"Technoooo!" Dream cooed lightly, "Come on man, don't scare us like that!" He looked at him with a laugh. "We don't mind helping you, y'know? You can't be perfect at everything," he swueezed him gently.
Techno hesitated, sort of content to uust standing there, but he slowly returned the gesture and hugged back gently. "Says Mr. Perfect," he mumbled, gaining a small his to his back.
"Another one of those and I'm never talking to you again. Cant I just be wise for once?" He asked.
Techno shook his head and pulled back. "No. But, I'll appreciate the attempt," he smiled a bit, ruffling Dream's hair before they released each other and exchanged playful insults while beginning to walk again.
Techno really did appreciate the gesture. Even if it was as up front as it was.
