A garden zone resource you might find useful is PlantMaps.com
Looking up my local specifics, I’m within a few blocks of another plant zone. I’m physically at an address whose first frost is Nov 1 - Nov 10, but just three blocks north of me, and two blocks west of me, it turns into a zone where first frost is Oct 21 - Oct 31.
When I think of those two chunks of time, Oct 21st to Oct 31st was traditionally the concentration of my saffron harvest, for about the first 5 years of my growing it. For fall 2017, my saffron really arrived more in November.
I’m trying to have more success with fall crops, so I’m using a spreadsheet that calculates backwards from your expected first frost. I’m really after fall peas, which I should apparently get in the ground somewhere in the near vicinity of July 22. Â
And to that end, I offer this link to some free garden calculators and planting tools.
