Kat! I just read these soldiers have sun-fired bones and I had a thought, when Xanatos was talking about how Qui-Gon had disavowed Feemor. And itās something that I see a lot in fics about Qui and his three padawans, and Iām not knocking it, I just had this thought.
Maybe Iām just being petty and spiteful today but Iām thinking Qui-Gon was awarded his Mastery because of Feemor. Correct me if Iām wrong but it was because he completed Feemorās training after his original master was killed.
And I know that you can be granted the title of master without ever taking a padawan, (Iām looking at you Jon Antilles) BUT! In my mind if we was gifted his mastery for his first padawan, and his second fell, (and then he straight up lied about it to the council but I digress) then he went on to disavow (deny responsibility for) his first or repudiate (to reject as untrue or unjust) as told to me by the dictionary (thank you Webster).
And like I said maybe Iām just being a petty and spiteful biotch today but like if he didnāt (by his own words) do the thing that he was granted his mastery for (ie training a padawan to knighthood) then by all rights WHY should he still retain the rank of Master.
I mean, didnāt he basically do the same things again to Obi-Wan on Melida/Daan, basically repudiating him and telling the council he was dead, if you count the Jedi Apprentice books? And even if you donāt he all but threw Obi-Wan away before the council in order to train Anakin.
I mean by that time he was old enough and experienced enough as a diplomat that he could have gained his mastery through that. But years before that why did he still retain the rank of master. Shouldnāt It Be KNIGHT Jinn!?!?!?!
As far as Iām aware, thereās no canon info about how Qui-Gon came to take Feemor as a padawan, or specifically how he made Master. As far as him losing his Mastery because of repudiating Feemor and Xanatos, I donāt think itās that simple. Regardless of him rejecting them, he didĀ train Feemor to Knighthood, and Feemor is still recognized as a Knight by the Jedi. In addition, Qui-Gon is at this point probably very settled into the roleĀ of Master and would have earned the title either way.Ā
Hey kat I tried to scroll through your blog to see if anyone already asked this question so if they did and I missed it Iām sorry. In your last chapter of trade your heart Jon was thinking about how there was only one Korun Jedi for a reason, and is that canon, or was that you? Iām asking because Iām curious and would like to know more about that. But google wasnāt telling me much.
Itās an assumption that has canon basis, if that makes sense. All Korrunai (Maceās Human-adjacent race) are Force-sensitive, and when Mace was a child several Jedi anthropologists were on his home planet studying the Korrunaiās Force connection. Maceās parents died in the jungle, so the Jedi asked to take him back to the Temple and raise him as a Jedi.Ā
So, basically, my assumption is that since all Korrunai are already Force-sensitive, and they have a cultural structure thatās very much basedĀ around that fact, the Jedi donāt go there looking for initiates, because thereās no danger to Force-sensitive children there and likely very few of them are called to be Jedi when they already have their clans on Haruun Kal. Mace is an exception, and Korrunai Jedi are definitely not common.

and is then promptly deeplyĀ annoyed by this realization.
Whew Kat! Is it hot in here or just Indiana Jon and the Daring Duo???
That sounds like some sort of burlesque show. xD
