the crushing, silent abyss where pressure births mountains remained a resonant hum in his being. he could still feel the deep's embrace, the void in which romirro had condemned him, a deep-seated raw pain eight centuries deep, where love had turned into shackles. to contain him would meant to hold his freedom hostage; for eight hundred years he looked towards the sky from the seabed where no light could reach, chained to the bottom of the ocean by his own followers. the god hadn't the strength to maintain wrath for centuries, but when he was freed by his chains he did not look at the humans who once upon a time called themselves his followers with envy, instead he'd spared them alien pity, to be misguided by a few words from a prophecy when they meant so little to him.
at long last, my freedom was returned. for eight centuries i have been imprisoned by false worship, and i have not visited land in just as many years. what have become of the children of the sun, though, i wonder?
the god turned his ageless consciousness towards the sun-kissed the world. how could something so transient cause so much pain, so much suffering, and so much sorrow? the sea washes all stains in time, but the sins of the children of the sun alone, could never be completely clean, as they would create new ones long before the old stains have faded, such were the nature of these land dwellers.
as he walked along the shorelines of the beach, the sea's shallow waves licked at his feet, as though it desired its god and yearned for his return. the other presence on the beach was felt rather than heard. he sensed the footsteps of the other before he could see him. through the lens of the crushing depths, his unexpected companion wasn't small, but he felt similarly alone. the sea god halted his steps, amused by the foreign energy he sensed, something earthly and more ancient than the rest of the two-legged creatures that had populated this land-bound horizon.
greens as lush as emerald jewels, met his coral-coloured ones. the stranger didn't seem surprised to see him, instead, he was amused, though he could tell that he was amused by practically everything on land. a fellow estranged? "strange... a dragon by the sea?" his thoughts, echoed through a deep, curious voice. "i have met other dragons long before you. the sea was not one of their favourite places to spend their hours. speak, little wave, what is your purpose here?"
