Darcia’s fingers covered her mouth, but her shoulders still shook, which gave her away. Her eyes were wide and staring at the screen, tears slowly starting to stream down her cheeks.
She watched as the boy got in the car, halting to give one last wave to his rehoused toys before driving off…. and burst into loud tears.
Tsuki looked at her, her mouth hanging open. She wasnt sure whether she should be concerned or if she should laugh. Darcia was crying… over a universally rated film. A film for young children…
Stifling her giggles, she shifted over on the couch and wrapped her arm around her airheaded band mate, who was crying quite despairingly into her hands at this point.
“It’s okay Darcia... I-it’s not real...” She managed to get out before she snorted, not being able to keep that giggle inside. Clearing her throat and regaining her composure, Tsuki continued to comfort Darcia, cuddling her into her side and patting her rebellious, white curls.
It took almost an hour to calm Darcia down from her sobbing fit, and when she finally came around, her eyes were red and swollen, her lip worried between her teeth. When she finally spoke, her voice was cracked and heavy with tears.
“Tsu... Do you think Mr Dirth will ever pack us up in a box and leave us behind...?”
... Yet again, Darc had the most ridiculous way of phrasing things, Tsu thought. But she understood the more pressing, darker thought behind her words. Giving Darc a reassuring squeeze, in hopes of wiping that utterly sad, wide eyes look off of her face. “Don’t worry Darc. Of course Dirth would never do that to us.”
Tsuki tried to smile reassuringly, but the smile did not reach her eyes. But before Darcia could catch on and work herself up into another state, Tsuki gave her a small bump.
“Let’s go do something else... Like...” Tsuki’s lips twitched upwards, she knew she would pay for this later, but it would be worth it, if it cheered Darcia up just a little bit...
“Tae is asleep in the next room.... Would you like to paint his toenails?”
