Running to Costco for toilet paper like... . . . In all seriousness, though, we are at the precipice of a totally foreign, totally unprecedented time. The wedding industry, like so many others, is already feeling its effects, and it leaves us and our clients anxious about what’s next. . . . To my 2020 brides: I love you all, I’m invested in you all, and I want every single one of you to have exactly the day we’ve planned. I will be as accommodating and supportive as I can, and for those who need to postpone their dates, am happy to waive the non-transferral policy on my wedding date retainer for any 2020 dates that I am still available. . . . To those who need to postpone their wedding/event dates: Try not to worry, and just breathe. Your vendors understand. They don’t want to lose you, either, and will accommodate you as best they can. We’re already seeing an influx of late summer and fall requests, and in order to keep your vendor list in tact, you may need to be flexible on the day of the week your new date falls on, and opt for a Friday or Sunday date. . . . To my fellow vendors: Hang in there. Support your clients and eachother. We can be understanding, flexible and accommodating without jeopardizing our livelihood. We’re going to face new situations we’ve never had to prepare for. When it gets rough, embrace your community. It’s what they’re there for. Now more than ever we have to set aside the competition and truly support one another. It’s shaping up to be a tough year, but we will get through this together. . .
