I took these photos early one morning while the dew was still on the grass. Prairie dogs are a family orientated animal. They live in large groups, share food, and protect each other from predators. The groups are called colonies or towns and consist of many families/clans. They are one of the few animals that kiss each other. Prairie dogs are considered a keystone Species, as they are an important prey in a predatory animals diet.
