Considering IB diploma program. Got 88% in PreIB English & love learning; bad @ math & science. Got out of PreIB math b/c failing w/ 33% & passed PreIB science w/ 63% (worked bum off for it). Had bad start (moved across country, never heard of IB, misadvised & didn't expect workload); since being in regular classes I miss people & hard work (math 10; so easy). Over 85% in all grade 9 classes w/o trying & got great work habits in PreIB math & science. You think I could pass IB? Be honest, please.
Yeah! I think you could do it. Honestly, I think anyone who set their mind to it would be able to do it. It will be hard though. Most people who go into IB are people who have had straight A's their whole life beforehand, but hey! I wasn't one of those people haha. I had B's here and there, never C's, but never straight A's either (I'm a bit of a slacker when it comes to studying, although I ace HW). At the end of the day, it depends on you. Do you think you'll be able to balance the workload (and going in early to ask for help) with the action/creative/service hours? Grades alone don't really tell much, especially since they depend so much on the intensity of teachers, but it mostly comes down to your determination. If you are determined to get through it, you will. If you are not sure, it still never hurts to try. You can always drop out later, no big deal! :) Good luck.
