We feel lucky that we’ve never lost any of our furchildren but can deeply sympathise with furparents that have.Finding Rover is a free app that uses canine facial recognition technology to reunite lost dogs with their parents.

It is important to set up your dog’s profile while it’s safely at home by taking a photo using the app and uploading contact information onto the Finding Rover database. Then, if you lose your dog, the app will perform an instant facial recognition search of all the found dogs in your area, providing you with a list of contacts to get in touch.

For the people who have found a dog, this app allows you to take a photo of the dog and match it with lost dogs in the area.

Of course, the success of Finding Rover relies heavily on the number of users in your area, but if every dog parent created a profile, then every lost dog may be found more easily.

What we like most about this app is that people who find dogs (like we have) can do more to find the owner, rather than having to rely on vets and animal shelters.
