Oppo N1 launch is tonight! What big news can we expect?

Tonight’s big news is obviously going to be the launch of the Oppo N1, but what can else can we expect from this up and coming smartphone maker?

Oppo fans are marking today as “the commence of a true underdog tale”, I’m not sure I would agree with that as Oppo have always had a fair amount of money in their coffers and a reputation for making standard handsets.

This article poses some great questions about Equity in the arts and schools. It is a disadvantage to students that some schools have more access to the arts then others based on location, finances, and faculty. For awhile the arts were cut from schools and now were seeing less an less of those cuts. The arts is extremely important for students to have and experience.

Some of these qualities may help students earn a living, but their importance has more to do with students' development into cultured and humane people.”

ColorOS 2.0 based KitKat available for Find 5, but with some unpleasant surprises

Since its launch in February 2013, Oppo Find 5 has always had to “settle” for a ColorOS firmware based on Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean. Despite several months has been released ColorOS 2.0 based on KitKat, this remained an exclusive for the latest devices as Oppo Oppo R5 and N3, at least until now.

On the official forum of Oppo, in fact, appeared a topc announcing the upgrade to the new version of ColorOS for Find 5, but users were not exactly thrilled to find out that it is a ROM developed by external developers to whom the team Oppo has simply applied the style of his ColorUI.

In particular, we are faced with a port of OmniROM that brings with it the bug of this ROM: NFC not working, no gestures to screen off the camera and nothing ColorOS. The complaints of the holders of Find 5, however, have not been driven only by the presence of these significant flaws in a firmware posted on the official forum, but also by the fact that at first the team OmniROM was not credited in the credits, violating the GPL ROM.
