I always loved the ugly sweater trend around the holidays and was never shy to admit I actually own over 12 ugly Christmas sweaters. As Thanksgiving passed and December inched closer brought out all of my sweaters. I began to wonder why I wore holiday sweaters, where the crazy trend began and what the stories were behind the desert dwellers that wear them. To answer all these questions I began the blog Sweaters in the Desert to tell the stories of these tacky holiday traditions. Crystal Alvarez
